Australia travelling to Vietnam from Thailand. Can I get visa at HCMC airport?

Featured Replies

Hello. Living in Thailand. Have been to Vietnam several times and always applied for my VN visa from the Vietnamese Australian

embassy. Just wondering if anyone knows if you can get a visa at HCMC airport on the way in?

There are a number of companies offering a visa on arrival in Vietnam, this is one http://vietnamvisa.org/?gclid=Cj0KEQiA6dGmBRC_3Mi-x_XywKsBEiQA1lcFP7XIpD71aNvIUS-JB8AYrGEJ9SAWI4KvJJjzsGJ_XLEaApf98P8HAQ a Google search will bring up many more.

This is a Non-Official/Commercial website operated by one company, their service is to obtain an approval letter for a fee on your behalf for you to pick up the full visa upon arrival at Vietnam airport.

According to the embassy in Australia none of these are legit

Many people use them and I've never heard of anyone encountering a problem, the Vietnamese Immigration authorities actually have desks at the airport to process these letters.

I did say it was a non official process and there is a warning on the website I provided the link for, but there is no other way to get a visa on arrival.

I always get a visa from the Consulate.

Have done it 4-5 times on vietnam-visa.org and each time it was a piece a' cake----no more than 20 minutes after arrival assuming you are off the plane as one of the first few---so book your seat on the plane upfront.
