Does anyone know why dailymail.co.uk is blocked?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I was doing some ramdom search on google and had a result linking to dailymail.co.uk. when I clicked it i get a message from the information and communication of thai. Does anyone know why?

They posted a story which comes under LM laws earlier last year. Been banned since

Just turn on an Uk ip address instead

I always use Chrome and Zenmate

Banned because its not up to the Suns standard

Hmm! if the Mail can't reach the Sun's level then they may as well shut up shop in the UK.

Because it speaks the truth , which is not allowed in thialand

It's easy to get around. I'm not allowed to say how on this forum so PM me.

never noticed. reading what they post it should be

A Thai friend told me that they are blocked because of their Football coverage which includes the odds on upcoming games and thus is used by gambling syndicates to set the odds here in Thailand

As said above they published stories about the Thai Royals that are taboo in this country.

Distributing would bring you to jail for years.

Banned since May 2014. Occasionally unblocked due to "mishap" at one or the other provider.

There is another tabloid blocked. Forgot which.

Consider it a blessing in disguise.

So what do you read, The New York Times, or the Huffington Post ?

What makes you think I'm comparing that comic to either of those two?

The OP has received the answer to his question and this topic has run its course. Aside from that, this subject has already been discussed in numerous topics, one being this topic: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/798025-ministry-blocks-websites-that-have-nothing-to-do-with-thailand-why/

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
