Please help regarding FTP Download of Backup from Host

Featured Replies

Powweb is my website host and 3 weeks ago we noticed that all of the files in the HTDOC folder had disappeared. Powweb told me they had no idea what happened but I believed they removed the files when my usage exceeded some limit. They then tiold me they could create a backup for the 4.4 gb folder which they did in a zip file. A file that large times out when I download it from the Powweb console as it does when I try to download via FTP. At a max of 1.2 mbps download speed it times out early and the FTP will not resume where it left off. It is a very old FTP client (WS_FTP). I attempted to download "Filezilla" but would not download successfully on Crome. Is there a way to override the timeout issue or is there an FTP Client that will allow the resumption of the download to allow the complete download of the file?

I have restored most of what went missing but I desperately need some of the files still in the backup. If you can help with any solution I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you

I would try FlashGet or Free Download Manager.

Filezilla is perfect for resuming transfers assuming the ftp server supports it.

If you can't download filezilla then you have other problems. Try downloading it from Firefox.
