Hello

This is more a question to those that have driven both bikes before

is it worth to pay the 220k baht more for a z1000 ? is there a big performance difference between those 2 or is 600k baht better spent somewhere else ?

ABS was very important for me so a used bike like a 2008 hayabusa is out of question

I also have a pillion occassionally

i also was thinking about the cbr1000rr but i think it has less performance than the z1000 due to jap spec

Don't know about the Z800 but to me the Z1000 felt cramped and small. I am 5' 8". The old air cooled Z1000's were much bigger and more comfortable smile.png

Sale figures doesnt tell much in TH there are more likley more Z800 for sale cause its cheaper but still the monthly rates cant be payed regularly because they dindt think/ planned long term; seemed cheap on paper ;)

These are two very different bikes.

Z800 Kawa's first attempt to "non-jap manuf. biggie". meaning big bike designed for saving and (some) compromises here and there.

Z1000 classic full-featured, Japan manufactured heavy motorcycle.

Z1000 is lighter than 800

A consequence of cost savings design of the Z800 that I've indicated above. Weight saving is expensive.

Its more about your ability and needs. I owned the z1k and it was a great bike. If the 800 was available when i was buying i would have went with the 800 as the savings is substantial.

its not worth upgrading to the z1000

the z1000 pulls like a 600cc supersport (just has better midrange torque) and the z800 is just slighty less powerfull

i'd save abit more and get a 899. its really worth it

What are you talking about? The ducati is a super sport bike and totally different from the ops request. And 25% more then a z1k

If you read again

he also was thinking about the cbr1000rr which is a supersport

the 899 might be more expenssive but its worth the money for what you are getting compared to a cbr1000rr <-- that is my opinion as i upgraded to that model from the z800 that i owned before.

Again very dissimilar bikes... Italian twin Vs Jap four inline.

Going from one to another can mean a change of heart, but not an upgrade,

yes that is true. perhaps OP does not like the sound of twin engines or how it works

But in my opinion, selling a z800 to get a z1000 is not worth it

if you really like the cbr1000rr you could perhaps inform yourself about the de-restriction procedure to get euro spec. i think few on this forum did that and surely can tell you how
