NRC President assures only charter without flaw will be put to use

BANGKOK, 6 March 2015 (NNT) - The President of the National Reform Council has assured that he will not allow the new Constitution to be put to use if it has any flaw.

NRC President Tienchay Kiranant said that the Constitution Drafting Committee, on April 17, is scheduled to present their first draft of the new charter to the reform council who will spend the following 10 days deliberating the draft.

Therefore, the NRC is set to carefully review the new Constitution during April 20 and 26, except April 23 when the National Legislative Assembly has scheduled a meeting, he said.

Mr. Tienchay added that all NRC members will be allowed to freely share their opinions about the draft charter while any questions from them and the NLA , the Cabinet as well as the National Council for Peace and Order can later be directed to the charter drafters for clarification.

The NRC President believes that the final version of the new Constitution will be exactly how it has been expected — a suitable and fair charter that can solve the problems of social, economic and political inequality.

He asserted that the NRC will not allow a charter which is not of any value or meaningfulness to be put to use as it will only cause more problems to Thailand later.

A charter without flaw? Really? Wow, they are good!!!

These people are utterly incapable of making well thought out statements. There is no way in the world you can come up with something as important and complicated as the guiding document for a country and not have some problems, especially with the short time period they are being given to draft it.

Just do the best you can do with honesty and integrity.

Did I really say that...cheesy.gif

That’s a rather vague statement. Where is the Tungsten-tough guy who made commitments like:

I will be beheaded if it won’t happen?

If its done by the human hand..........I assure you, it will have flaws!............nothing in this world done by man has flaws somewhere.....we just need to set-up a committee to find one!.......I'm sure its somewhere!

Go to the Library of Congress and pick up a copy of the Declaration of Independence, I'm sure the libarian can help you.

The document is all spelled out in clear print. It has been the foundation of law in the United States for over 250 years. Not once

did we have an over throw of the government, or military take over..........Come on NRC President, bring Thailand back into the 21st

century its not that difficult. I'm sure a Representative of some capacity could explain to you the finer point of our form of government!

Nation forming starts from the beginning and for you the beginning starts with......WE THE People, in order to form a more perfect union.............

.....Do you get it NRC President?????

All human creations have flaws - we are flawed. If he is saying only a non-flawed constitution will come to be.... well what he is saying is that he does not believe in constitutions in the first place. Constitutions have a set of very clear, fundamental laws that lay out how the government is formed and functions (mostly) and in many countries a set of inalienable rights for it's citizens.... along with an AMENDING formula (amending the constitution is not a crime in most countries, they just have to follow a formula). An amending formula, by it's very nature.... recognizes that we are not perfect, nor can we see into the future. Here.... constitutions are worth the paper they are written on.... when it suits the powers in the shadows.... it will be torn up and replaced.

If a constitution will be put to use without flaw, then NRC might be best to follow the Constitution of the constitutional monarchy of the UK as a standard - there is no UK constitution!

And if there is no constitution, military coups can avoid having to abolish them and give themselves amnesties.
