Ploughmans Lunch...

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

Yes I realise that shopping/eating posts can be boring, and this one is for the Brits.

Walked back to Airport Plaza where I left my car yesterday while getting my 1 year extension at Immigration (YES!!!), and headed into Tops for a little shopping.

At last, Branston Pickle is on offer- so now only 4-5 times as much as in the UK. Just had to get some.

So talk about deep joy and life's simple pleasures. Lunch today was a Ploughmans: French stick, real butter, cheddar cheese- and Branston. And very cold Chang

Fond memories of all the lunches in all the pubs in all the towns, but I swear a Ploughman's never tasted this good.

Next time, wash it down with a bottle of 'London Pride'.

It will be even better.......

Gotta be cider with a ploughman's

Pint of 'Rattler' for me please.

You guys are such perfectionists!! But I wont let you rain on my parade 5555

What? No pickled onion?

"French Stick"?

No No No, that's just not right.

I was waiting for someone to pick me up on the French stick!.

Actually pretty common in pubs last time I was in Uk- maybe they try to be gastro pubs with their fancy ploughmans??.

Not too sure about the London Pride either. I have heard northern lads describe that as like making love in a punt... You know the next line

They were serving French stick with my ploughmans in 1970s Worthing pubs.

(and Strongbow cider)

Never been a better time for Brits to have ploughmans. Eat one now it comes with a pea souper.

Sacrilege. Should have one of these and tear it apart with your hands.

And Strongbow? Factory-produced piss.

Should be scrumpy or a local ale.

Phillistines!

Branston Pickle has been available at Rimping, for at least 4 years.

Pork Pie. Maybe even a boiled egg..

And as stated above.. cloudy cider.. Oh ar my lovelies..

More like 10+ years!

When I first saw it was overjoyed - Cheese (Vintage Cheddar, of course) and Branston Pickle sandwiches, bliss.

I trust this boiled egg you are referring to would have been pickled in vinegar for at least ten years before consumption?

Yeah, I know Rimping have had Branston for years but soo expensive. My point was (partly) that it is on offer for a short while. that's all.

Can you get one at the food court in Big C?
