No sympathy for the fool until I saw the guy punching him while handcuffed in the back of a pickup. The Dutch guy at least has some sort of an excuse , drugs of booze unlike the lowlife that punched him repeatedly and the equally low life so called policeman who allowed it to continue. A decent media would be asking such questions and a decent police force would have arrested two people that night and suspended one of their own

No its okay to have a few pints of beer , alcohol is legal in this country. Weed is not, any foreigner smoking weed in Thailand should know that. In this case we don't know, but he looked heavy influenced by something more than a few beers.

They wouldn't have got much out of his wallet, by the seems of it he spent it all on a good night out, helping the economy.
