Thai Hospital Staff Accused in Massive Drug Fraud Network
Thai Veteran Hospital to Report Staff for Drug Theft Picture courtesy of Thai PBS In a troubling revelation, the War Veterans Organisation of Thailand (WVO) alongside the Veterans General Hospital is set to seek police action today against several current and former staff, linked to a drug theft ring. The stolen medication is purportedly being resold outside the institution, sparking serious concerns about corruption within the ranks. The bombshell arose following an exposé by Tanadej Pengsuk, a People’s Party MP representing Bangkok. Tanadej disclosed that a former doctor at the hospital had alerted him to the illicit activity that allegedly dated back several years. Spurred into immediate action, the hospital and the WVO conducted an internal investigation. Their inquiries confirmed the allegations, unearthing a network comprising six teams. The individuals implicated include both current and retired nurses, along with other medical personnel. Alarmingly, one member of the network has already confessed to their involvement. In response, the hospital has taken swift precautionary steps. Those under suspicion have been suspended from duty as the investigation continues. This is intended to preserve the integrity of the ongoing inquiry and prevent any potential tampering with evidence. The case adds to growing concerns about internal malpractice in Thailand's healthcare sector, where accountability and transparency are fiercely sought. The decision to escalate the matter to the anti-corruption police signifies the seriousness with which the hospital and the WVO are treating this breach of trust. This unfolding situation raises hard questions about oversight and control within public medical institutions in Thailand, where the wellbeing of veterans and the general public must remain sacrosanct. The outcome of this case will likely have wide-reaching implications for how similar instances are handled in the future, ensuring that such breaches do not recur and trust in public institutions is restored. As developments unfold, all eyes will remain on the authorities to see how they tackle this sensitive case, balancing the need for justice with the prompt restoration of honourable service to those who served the nation, reported Thai PBS. -- 2025-03-04 -

CCTV Footage Shows Car Turning Without Checking, Collides with Motorcycle, Rider Injured
Picture from responders. A traffic collision occurred in Nakhon Nayok province at 08:35, on March 3. The incident took place at Moo 9, Hin Tang subdistrict, Mueang district, approximately 100 meters past the local administrative office of Hin Tang, along the road leading to the Khun Dan Prakarn Chon Dam. CCTV footage captured the moment a black Honda car, which had been parked by the roadside, suddenly turned right to make a U-turn without checking for oncoming traffic. At the same time, a grey motorcycle, which was travelling straight along the road, collided directly with the car’s driver-side door. The impact caused damage to both vehicles. The male motorcycle rider, estimated to be around 40 years old, sustained serious injuries and was quickly rushed to Nakhon Nayok Hospital by emergency responders from the Ruam Katanyu Foundation. The driver of the car, a man, remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. Police have begun an investigation, taking photographic evidence from the scene and inviting the car driver to the Mueang Nakhon Nayok Police Station for further questioning and legal proceedings. -- 2025-03-04 -

Hua Hin is close to Bangkok they say
The whole idea of riding motorcycles in Thailand to travel is a very toxic topic. Personally, i have ridden a lot of miles here without a problem but i would probably be classed as an experienced rider, i got my first bike at age 7 and have ridden all my life in a few different countries. Back to topic, i personally have travelled from Sukhimvit Soi 42 to Lom's bar on the esplanade in Prachuap Khiri Khan in 2.5 hours, for the unfamiliar with the area, that is 100 kilometers past Hua Hin. That was on a motorcycle, and for those who call BS. there owner of the shop i was at in BKK will back me up as he has been trying to match that time for a while now......555. So, in a nutshell, Hua Hin Is not that far. -
