Jacob Maslow
Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has ordered fortune teller Warin Buawiratlert to stop predicting his future after his prophecy stirred up controversy. Warin Buawiratlert made a prediction of Gen Prayut’s term in office, prophesying that the junta leader would stay in power for three years. The popular fortune teller, who made his prediction in Chiang Mai on Sunday, said the military-led government would remain in power until subversive plots ended and its goals were accomplished. Gen Prayut dismissed Warin’s predictions and reiterated his goal to follow the timeline to restore general elections and democracy in Thailand. Gen Prayut stated that he has no intention of holding onto power, and that he’s “sent a signal” to Warin that he should not make any more predictions. National Council for Peace and Order spokesman Col Winthai Suwaree said that the government is still keeping to its schedule, which includes elections in 2016. He stated that the government is committed to the roadmap and elections will happen once the new constitution is in place. Warin Buawiratlert has told the fortunes of both active and retired generals and politicians. He’s often called the “CNS fortune teller” as he was consulted by former army chief Gen Sonthi Boonyaratkalin before unseating former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra in the 2006 coup. -- 2015-04-

No it means that if he was any good, he should have seen what the good Gen would have thought of his predicting his future.

yellowboat
The fortune teller would not need to be clairvoyant to foresee the touchy general's response. NongKhaiKid
The media well warned not to criticise, only favourable opinion polls allowed and now only positive predictions permitted. My late mother used to joke that when she read her horoscope she only believed it if it was good. The PM's taking no chances by trying to make sure that nothing negative gets out. Popular Post Bluespunk
"Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has ordered fortune teller Warin Buawiratlert to stop predicting his future after his prophecy stirred up controversy." Bet the "fortune teller" didn't see that one coming. Though to be fair to the PM, if he doesn't want his fortune told and being publicised by charlatans such as this guy, in a country where such nonsense is believed then it shouldn't be. I know I wouldn't like it.
