Best hotel near beach for relax ? Enjoy the sunset ? Near Chonburi/Pattaya

Hello,

I would like to spend 3 days relaxing & romantic in a hotel, in the west side of an island (to enjoy sunset, also swim...).

What are you suggestions ?

I can afford until 2000/2500 Baths per day for the room. Although less is better.

I'm currently in Chonburi.

I looked on Internet Koh Chang, Koh Wai, Koh Samet... but I really don't know.

Thank you so much

Laem mae pim is just past Rayong some nice hotels with beach views and nice beach huts to rent.

Agreed...and you can have fish cooked right there at the beachside fish market....best I've ever tasted and 150 Baht including cooking.

Don't go thinking Koh Chang is 'near' Chonburi/Pattaya...... it is a 3-4 hour (300km) drive.

It is the best if you want to travel that far.

Koh Samet is nearer and the beaches of Rayong.

Surprisingly, the Sheraton in Jomtiem is nice!

'Different "genre" from what some are suggesting, but View Talay 6 seaview rooms on the higher floors are good for sunset views and VT6 has a back entrance right on to Beach Road. The rooms can be pricey at peak times, but many of the hotels that used to have decent seaviews have lost them due to new construction over the last few years. (And something's even said to be going up next to VT6 - if construction hasn't already started - which'll block some of the existing sea views below some floor level.)

Central Pattaya, right next to Central Festival Mall. Condos. (Rent from one of the services.)

You'll find Koh Chang to be quite far from Pattaya but if that's okay, I recommend Sea View resort.

You'll need to get their bungalow to be under 2500 baht per day but they've only got a few so you'll need to book in advance.

There's a small island just off shore you can kayak too, you can have the whole island to yourself and your partner if you leave early enough in the morning. There's nothing more romantic than a private island for you and your partner(s).

Agoda.com see what kind of deals they have going.

Don't forget to read Agoda small print, the price they ask is not the price you pay.

Not really true, although it IS true that the prices you originally see when comparing hotels do not include tax or service charge. Expedia and most others do the exact same thing, though there may be a good few that include the fees right up front. Anyway, with Agoda, once you click on a hotel and start looking at rooms, there's a notice informing you that the prices shown do not include the 7% tax or 10% service charge (and c'mon now, is some ballpark headwork really that much of a challenge?). And should you click on the 'Book' button, then the total amount shown DOES include them, and you're told that. You therefore do see it when you go to the payment page and before you commit to the charge and before you type in your charge information (you'll see a Room charge and a 'Total Price'; simply subtract one from the other and that difference is the total tax & s/c). 'Have used Agoda (and the Agoda website) for many years.

Now if the HOTEL is adding on some charge when you go to check-in, 'seems to me that's on the hotel. (But that's never happened to me, though I have sometimes been offered a different room or package at a different price.)

I use Agoda frequently (enough to leverage the point rewards). There may often be some marginally better deals if you want to dig, hotel listings missing from Agoda definitely CAN sometimes be found elsewhere, and one should NOT assume all prepaid reservations are refundable (notices given WRT each hotel tho'), but I find Agoda fairly competitive and straightforward.
