Hi, i am marrying my thai fiance in jan(buddhist style)and then want her to return with me to bermuda through new york to get legally married here,so want to apply for a non immigrant visa for this.She owns property in her name in thailand has no police record and flawless financial statements from the bank also references from employers.Does anyone know if there is likely to be any difficulties obtaining a visa for her and any idea of a time frame for this kind of visa?Bermuda is subject to British law system.Thanks

Time frame is roughly about 6 months right now. Look at USCIS site, there is a page that lists dates of apps recieved and when they are being processed. This is also the site with all the instructions you will need.

What you have sounds good. Can you prove your relationship though, this is a major part of what they are looking at. Relationship length for starters, photos, phone records, flight info, all of this is helpful. They tell you how all of this should be presented with your applications once you dig into the USCIS site. They really get specific, certain types of staples, binders with certain style tabs ect ect...ive learned to do my homework with these folks.

Good luck

There is another option; fly her to Bermuda via london. Its a bit more expensive, but no visa is required as long as she flys in and out in under 24 hours. There is also changing airports in london... heathrow to gatwick.

My wife initially arrived in Bermuda that route; and we got her a US visa a few months later from the US embassy in Bermuda.

Are you Bermudian?

See also Qantas' IATA database:

Passport required.

Visa not required.

Bermuda Immigration officers will decide on max. period of stay (up to 6 months) depending on reason for travel.

Stays exceeding 6 months require application for residency in person. For details see: For details, click here .

Passenger must hold:

- ticket or other documents required for onward/return travel;

or

- Letter of Guarantee from prospective employer in Bermuda; or

- Bermuda Landing Permit.

Entry will be refused, if arriving with return ticket via Canada or U.S.A. without holding visa for Canada or U.S.A., if required. This also applies if transiting Canada or U.S.A. only.

If intending to visit the U.S.A., passenger must hold tickets and all other documents required for entry into a country beyond the U.S.A.
