AOT compensates King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang

The Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) has approved a compensation of 214 million baht for King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang as the noise pollution from Suvarnabhumi Airport has been found to affect the institute, following the test on the airport’s planning.

During the test on all systems and preparations of Suvarnabhumi Airport, Mr. Somchai Sawadeephol, the Suvarnabhumi Airport Director, said noise pollution from the site can affect the nearby communities as well as King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. Thus, the AOT board has approved a budget of 214 million baht to compensate the institute. Mr. Somchai said the board will consider the time to pay the institute soon.

After the opening of Suvarnabhumi’s commercial services on September 28th, the AOT will continue to check whether other nearby education institutes will be affected from the airport’s noise pollution.
