Bangkok:- Metropolitan police have arrested a Nigerian man at his Bangkok rented room for having allegedly sold crystal methamphetamine and cocaine.

Onyejiekwe Morgan Chinemeremm, 29, was arrested in a sting operation, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Pol Lt Gen Sriwarah Rangsitpramkul and Pol Col Suthep Chanasit, an inspector of the Metropolitan Police Division 4, told a press conference at 4 pm Tuesday.

Presented at the press conference were 31.47 grams of crystal methamphetamine or “ice” and 889.63 grams of cocaine.

Suthep said the Nigerian man was arrested at the stairway between the eighth and ninth floors of HR Residence in Bang Kapi district. He was charged with having crystal methamphetamine and cocaine in possession with intent to sell.

Suthep said police received tips-off that Nigerian men, who live on the ninth floor of Building 17 of the HR Residence, have been selling drug by hiring a Thai man, identified only as “M” as their drug delivery boy.

As a result, Suthep planned the sting operation and had a police informant contact M, asking to buy the crystal meth and cocaine from him.

M in turn informed the Nigerian men that his customer would like to buy 30 grams of crystal meth and 200 grams of cocaine for Bt460,000, Suthep said.

M led undercover policemen to the Nigerian men’s room to buy the drug and police found two Nigerians in the room. Once, the police identified themselves, the two Nigerians ran out of the room. One fled the scene while Chinemeremm was arrested at the stairway.

Chinemeremm admitted that he and his friend smuggled in the drug to sell mostly via post parcels.

Nice work, but he this is only one out of hundreds. It doesn't take a sophisticated sting like this to find them. Just patrol Nana properly and you can round up dozens every night.

Obviously a few palms are being greased liberally on a daily basis!

you notice they say metro police made the arrest. There is no chance in hell the Lumpini BIB would arrest one of their protected sponsors (partners or whatever you want to call it).

Funny how you don't see any of these boys selling their wares East of Asoke.

Come on PM this would be an easy clean up, get on it!!

How could easily escape one drug dealer?
From the ninth floor just running down the stairs?
Sounds a bit stupid, like unprofessional arrest tactic.

Whats new? And yet these Nigerians are allowed into the country? Really cannot understand the Immigration Authorities.

I studied at university in Bangkok with several Nigerians. Some lovely decent people, others not so much. Why should they all be punished?

Maybe all the westerners should get kicked out when one commits a crime.

My wife has bought a apartment in Lumpini Bang Kapi a few years ago. The contract says that she is NOT allowed to rent it out to any Africans.

Their is a 100,000 THB/day penalty on it. Lumpini is not the only one. Also in the apartment building (Din Daeng) where we are living has similar rules.

Owner's commities are allowed to set up rules that limit rights.

That this Nigerian was arrested is probably because he was in some other's (officer's) protected area.

Is that the price of cocaine these days?

2300 a gram is practically retail. So a very bad deal.

Nothing like a news item on blacks to bring out the bigoted, hang-'em-high brigade.

All you'll get from the same people when some low-life white guy gets caught ripping off pensioners from a boiler room or with a repository of kiddie porn on his computer is a few choice insults and a chorus of "deport and blacklist him".

I think most expats are ok folk but, my word, there are some real nasty supremacists in the ranks - especially on here

I have plenty of decent Nigerian friends, doctors, lawyers and accountants among them.

I cannot say the same for the extreme racists I have had the displeasure to meet. Without exception they have been uninteresting imbeciles.
