webfact Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 MRT offers 50% discount on 11th anniversaryThe NationBANGKOK: -- Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRT) together with Bangkok Metro Co Ltd will celebrate the subway's 11th anniversary by offering a 50 per cent discount to students at all levels.Discounts to these students holding the monthly pass cards are normally 10 per cent. The discounts for the May 15-July 31 period will be raised to 50 per cent.Sombat Kitjalaksana, president of BMCL - which is the subway operator, said that the discounts are a token of gratitude to customers. It is one of activities to commemorate the subway’s 11th anniversary of operations."The discounts will help parents reduce their expenses ahead of the new school semester. asdecas Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 The MRT, with its discounts for students and universal savings for older people, seems a lot more public-spirited than its counterpart, the BTS, which appears only to care about squeezing as many sardines at as high a price as possible into its carriages.
