I'm pretty sure i filled in the form on behalf of my wife when she first came to the Uk for a holiday . I supplied bank statements , payslips , details of skype calls , photos / proof of relationship , sponsor letter ect . The most important piece of information that you need is reason to return for her , letter from her employer saying she's got a job to go back too ( that sort of thing )

A three month holiday might be a bit long for first application though

Oh meant to say give a brief history of your relationship in the sponsor letter , how long you've known each other , how many times you've visted her and so on

The form is electronic, it does not matter who fills it in, but it is an application for your GF not you, and some of the information like names of parents she will have to help you with.

3 months is a long time, does she have a job? If yes, ensure you get a headed letter from her employee stating that her job will be there when she returns, does she own land, a condo or anything, how much does she have available for the trip or will you pay for everything.

there is a pinned topic that should help you

Thanks for the replys. No she has no job now. When i first met her she had her own restaurant but it didnt work out now she has no job but doing goverment massage course. She has no land or house just a daughter there. We met june last year and ive been to see her 3 times since. I'll be paying for flight and everything as she has no money in the bank. Do my bank statements have to be original or can i just print them off online?

Not a particularly uncommon situation and can be a problem.

Relationship wise work on emphasising your visits, present photographs especially as a couple. Entry/exit stamps etc. How does she earn a living? If you are providing support then document it both at the UK and Thai ends. If she is in the middle of the course then it might be beneficial to give evidence of this but it must make clear that a break in study is acceptable.

Biggest issue is going to be reasons to return. No job, no commitments requiring return (family looking after children when parents are off working is not unusual in Thailand). It can and has been done but an ECO needs to be satisfied that the applicant is going to return before the visa expires and does not just overstay.

Be critical. Look at the application and ask if you would trust the application if you didn't know the people involved. if you have doubts then so will an ECO!

Is there a list of things i need to get so if i do it on my own i can make sure i have everything to send. Does everything have to be originals or can i send bank statements ive printed off from internet thanks

You can fill in the online form on her behalf, submit it and pay the fee. See Apply for a UK visa.

It says there "You must be outside the UK, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man to apply for your visa."

She is the applicant, she is outside the UK. But you can complete the online process for her from within the UK.

Once the online process is complete print out a hard copy of the form which she signs and takes to her appointment at the UKVAC where she submits her supporting documents and has her biometrics taken.

Officially, to prevent fraud, bank statements must be originals or if photocopies or printouts certified as correct by the issuing bank. However, anecdotal evidence on this forum suggests the ECOs in Bangkok are flexible on that point. Your choice.

As well as the pinned topic linked to by Beano above and in your other topic, see also Standard visit visa from UKVI.

Visitor: supporting documents guide lists documents which must be provided and suggestions of other documents to provide depending on the circumstances and reason for the visit.

Other suggestions can be found in the pinned topic.
