Where to make professional face photo for ID or passport in BKK ?

Check the Consulate section of passport for information - they will most likely have a list. The main issue is background color here as Thailand seem to expect blue background for ID but most countries want white or cream type. I find it easier to just make myself using camera/computer/printer.

Did mine for last U.S. passport at a local digital photo shop. Size is critical as the gal at the Consulate has a template to measure, I just barely fit.

D. Photograph: One photograph is required. The picture must have been taken within the last six months, 2 x 2 inches (with the size of the head between 1 and 1 3/8 inches), and in color. The photo must be clear, front view, full face, and in focus. The background must be plain white or off-white. Please print the applicant's first and last name on the back of the photo.

If that fails for some reason, there's shops on Wireless Road that can do them up for you.

DIY, I got plenty of time.

It will need some practice (having a helper or a tripod, good light) and basic handling of a simple graphics program.

I prepare an image with 4 idenitical photos (2 by 2) in a 4" x 6" frame (10 x 15 cm).

Then go to a simple photo printer and let them print one or more of those.

One print here cost me 3 Baht biggrin.png

The real challenge is not so much the background color, but resizing according to the local rules.

About every country has its own rules.

I remember a thread where it was mentioned that the US has some online check/helper SW for the photos?

whistling.gif I just found it today.

If you are looking for a photo for a U.S, passport that meets the stated U.S. embassy requirements there is a self service photo booth right there in the U.S. embassy. itself.

The photo booth is in the area where the Thai applicants apply for their U.S. visas.

As I said it is a self-service booth.

You get 4 photos for 120 Baht.

Just feed in a 100 Baht note and a 20 baht note, select English from the menu, line up the photo on the screen so it looks good and hit the camera icon on the menu screen.

Takes 1 minute for your 4 finished passport photos to appear and fall into the bin below.

Just remember that the U.S. embassy states the head and face must NOT be cropped off but the top of your head must be clearly visible for a valid passport photo.

The background is the required white background.

Easy enough to use even for a old has been fossil like me.
