FM radio ap to BT

Featured Replies

I want to stream my FM radio smartphone Ap to my BlueTooth speaker, however for the FM ap to work on the phone the earphone's have to be inserted to function as an antenna. This unfortunately also serves to send the FM content to the earphones rather than the BT radio.

Has anybody found a workaround to this? Any FM radio aps that can circumvent the problem?

What happens when you turn on the external Bluetooth speaker *after* you launch the FM Radio app and set it to play through the speaker (not the headset jack)?

The PlayStore has a few apps for redirecting audio to Bluetooth, like "Sound About", though most of them, like "Mono Bluetooth" or "Super BT Mono", are designed to only redirect audio to mono-headsets

Another trick is to 'confuse' the audio gateway. Launch FM Radio and tune a station, then launch an MP3 player and connect your bluetooth audio. Sometimes the FM Radio Audio and the MP3 player will both be routed to your Bluetooth device.

As to replacement FM Radio apps, take a look at xda-developer app Spirit FM (Spirit2), supporting Bluetooth A2DP headsets.

The forum also describes the technical issues of supporting FM Receivers on the few mobile phones with an FM Radio chipset.
