Hey All,

I am going to Cambodia tomorrow morning on a Nok-Air flight,

My flight from Roi Et arrives into Don Muang at 9:10am

I then have an Air Asia flight booked leaving to Cambodia at 10:10am

So that gives me exactly 1 hour from when my flight lands to get onto the next flight which is obviously classed as an international flight and will require a departure card etc,

Am I pushing this too fine do you think? I am a bit nervous I have not given myself enough time, or is my 1 hour enough time? I guess alot will depend on the amount of chinese people que`ing and causing havok... what woyld you guys say?

Thanks

I have no luggage just my rucksack so hopefully that will speed things up, maybe if i grab an air asia person at the airport and explain they might push me to the front of the que?

Check in closes 60 minutes before departue for International flights, on paper, sometimes its 45 minutes if they can't get through all the passengers, so depending on what gate you arrive at and know exactly which area to go directly to may be lucky. SOund slike you dont have a choice, good luck

Perhaps enough time if all runs on schedule, but it only requires your flight from Roi Et to be delayed, even by only a few minutes or a hold up for whatever reasons at Don Muang airport, then that will certainly gum up the works.

I don`t think there are any reasons to ask, as I am sure the OP realises that he has imposed upon himself an extremely tight schedule based on a hope and a prayer that everything goes to plan.

Each time I have to catch connecting flights, I always give myself a minimum of 90 minutes up to 2 hours breathing space for peace of mind.

Thanks for the info guys, and yes your right I probably knew deep down I have left myself short...

I have managed to check in online and print off my boarding pass, and with no luggage to check in I think I might just be ok. I hope!

You might speak to Nok Air in advance, and see if they can do anything to expedite matters. I once was rushed through a large airport in a golf cart, though in my case both flights were with the same airline. And, they may have held my second flight for a few moments because they knew I was enroute.

better RUN. lots of space between where u arrive, run to check in, go to immigration, run to gate

it usually tales me about 45 minutes when i do two flights at DM and never book less than 90 minutes between

Check in for air asia closes at 20 minutes,

if there is a line anywhere your.......

Why should they push you in front of the queue? Just plan your trip better.

Read you post too late to suggest that you change your Nok Air flight for the day previous your International flight ,even if extra fee.

But I hope you were lucky and you could make t.

You'll be fine if you have checked in online

If Air Asia require a document check then you'll need to go to the doc check counter next to the normal checkin counters, should be quick

I flew Malindo/Milando Air out of DMK to KUL and this wasnt required

Hey, I made it... I did push my luck but it was not as bad as I thought,

When I first arrived to Roi Et airport after checking in at the Nok Air counter, I had a chat with a lad behind the Air Asia counter... I had my boarding pass ready printed for the connecting flight Don Mueang so I showed him it and politely said 'do you think I will make this?' and he kinda asked his seniors at the back and radio`d through on his little walkie talkie... he came back and said no I wont make it but it depends on how far the gate was... so I laughed and said he does not know how fast I can run,

The reason I asked him is because I thought he might get an radio through to air Asia staff member at DM to help me push through the passport plus security line a bit quicker but hey that's a bit cheeky I guess but nope.

Arrived around 10 minutes early of schedule on the tar mac.. I was off the plane as quick as possible but spent a few minutes helping an old women get her case down...... straight up the stairs to departures and arrived the passport line with my departure card pre filled in... unfortunately I had a huge group of Chinese people (you know the type with the leader having a flag) all shouting at each other in front of me kind of messing up the whole other que systems, I started getting a bit nervous as they was slowing the whole que down but luckily I ended up getting into a que with quite a fast officer.

Straight through security in about 2 minutes having made sure everything was out my pockets in my bag, semi ran to my gate which down some stairs, I had about 10 minutes before boarding started so was relived, I got a quick milkshake at the shop next to the gate, boarding time came and went and then I was informed we would be boarding 10 minutes later so was all good really,

I would say I made life easier by having no check in luggage to worry about and a pre printed off web check in paper cutting the need out of the checkin counter que, so bit daft but made it, saved me hours of waiting in boring old DM, I got that into my mission I made sure I had my cambodian visa paper work pre filled in on the air asia plane and was pretty much first out of the visa que here, I was off on my Tuk Tuk heading to pub street in no time.

anyway cheers all for filling me with confidence and assuring me heh

Well done that man there - for making it.

I like it when people post back and let us know what happened.

Being ready with docs and empty pockets is key.

I'm always a little frustrated to get to the security check, and then wait behind someone while they empty stuff out of their pockets bit by bit, getting sent back by the magic wand waver multiple times, forgot to ditch water bottle, laptop buried at bottom of bags, liquids not in plastic bag etc

Enjoy your trip :)

whew!! lucky to not have raised a sweat, and then be flagged by a concerned official for a pat-down (for appearing nervous) - and get slowed further again by a flagged spot probing of the nether-regions...

isn't great , to not be overly-paranoid smile.png

and your karma was improved markedly, by helping the old lady wai2.gif
