Ok obviously not just me. I liked Zenmate as could just leave it on permantly on via Chrome and used that browser purely for Iplayers etc

Hola is on my task bar on Firefox. Hola work on Chrome....??

Still there on Premium for which I appear to have activated a free trial.

Maybe time to go back to Hotspot Shield.

I dont see an option or link to opt for Premium....??

When I clicked to change my location to UK - I was offered Premium at a present-customer discount: 3.49 euros per month for a yearly account.

However, when I clicked on my desired payment card - nothing happened and I could not proceed to the next step. So I am not able to upgrade.

As someone said - back to Hola.

Actually I'm happy using Zenmate with Germany I only use it to bypass sandpit censorship.

I used Zenmate free for about 2 years and found it very good. Used mostly for the UK iPlayers. I decided to upgrade to premium with a similar discount and had similar problems to you. I wanted to pay for the year (better discount) and it kept offering me the monthly payment. I wrote to them and kept trying and it eventually worked using Firefox. I assumed that they had corrected some sort of bug in the system.

After I paid I got a reply saying they thought Thailand was risky and they only wanted people to pay monthly ??

Anyway I have it set up for the year and I'm finding it excellent, especially their new desktop icon. I now use this with Kodi and get all the UK programs no problem.

Tonight I watched the FA Cup final in HD with no buffering at all. I just hope I get my years worth out of it.

It really is worth trying the 7 Day free promotion.

I only use zenmate occasionally, if I need to use a UK iplayer for example, but have it installed on my laptop, phone and tablet.

My mate said he'd been having various problems on his ipad for a couple of days now so, after seeing this thread, I checked mine. Both my phone and tablet say my UK location is no longer available and offer me their premium rate service but zenmate with a UK location is still active via chrome on my laptop and I can still watch the BBC iplayer etc without any problems.

Is this a problem that, for the moment, is confined to zenmate app based installations?

It is with my laptop that I have the problem - I don 't have Zenmate on a smartphone.

I had the same, then yesterday it said 'Premium trial ended'. Enjoy while it lasts.

Just checked and as @elwood #7 writes: free lunch is over and they want money.

From the wording that they used in the past it was clear that this could happen sometime.

Done for me, I stick to my VPN.

Will remove it.

Thread should be "ZenMate, the good times are over".

They do want money but not much!

The premium service offers 10 locations, malware/tracking protection and "smart locations" which, if a location sensitive site such as the BBCiplayer is accessed, automatically switches Zenmate to, in this case, the UK site.

Try Cyberghost or Tunnlebear. Both good. I have two laptops and have these installed.

Are they free?

That was the main attraction of Zenmate.

I contacted Zenmate support, and they suggested using a different country, e.g. Germany, instead of Thailand on the payment details page.

I altered the country to Germany and was then cleared right through. Now I have the yearly subscription of 41.88 euros.
