2 more human trafficking suspects surrender to police

SONGKHLA, 30 May 2015 (NNT) – Two more human trafficking suspects have turned themselves in to police as the hunt for runaway suspects continues.

The two suspects, identified as Sa-ari Krem and Charoen Thongdaeng, are relatives and also are allegedly gang members of the human trafficking network led by former Padang Besar mayor Banjong Pongphol, alias Ko Jong.

Police meanwhile have requested arrest warrants from Na Thawi provincial court for four more suspects, bringing the number of suspects with arrest warrants to 81. Of them, 51 were arrested while 30 are still at large.

While the investigation into the Rohingya human trafficking case reportedly continues to progress, the Navy’s humanitarian mission is also taking shape significantly. A field hospital has been set up on the Navy’s off-shore operation base on HTMS Ang Thong to help sick migrants. A technical team is also on standby at the operation base to help fix migrants’ boats.

Hope RTP get holds of the ring leaders of this trafficking gang and bloody hell make them suffer like the poor floating people suffering en route to change their lives for a better future.
