Mr. Pongsak is confident that Suvarnabhumi Airport will help stimulate Thailand's economy

Transport Minister Pongsak Raktapongpaisal (พงษ์ศักดิ์ รักตพงศ์ไพศาล) is confident that the opening of Suvarnabhumi Airport will help stimulate Thailand’s economy.

He presided over the opening of the seminar to develop Suvarnabhumi Airport to be an aviation hub of the Asian region. During the opening ceremony, he asserted that Suvarnabhumi Airport will provide various advantages to the country, including the industries of tourism and aviation.

Mr. Pongsak informed that Suvarnabhumi is spacious and two airplanes can land on the airport at the same time. The airport is able to serve 45 million passengers per year, and over the next two years, the number should exceed 45 million people. The amount of passengers is also expected to reach 100 million people in the later future. He said that the cargo in the airport is three times bigger that the airport in Bangkok.

Thai Airways will cooperate with a Japanese company in transporting electronic products to Singapore, the electronic products’ distribution center.
