Black pepper

Featured Replies

I love black pepper, and add it to nearly every meal, the best pepper i ever had was from Sarawak, Malaysia,

and i brought a good stock back with me,now long gone, and cannot find a mail order company to buy more.

So I have been using the grown in Thailand black pepper, but the price seems to have shot up ,was in Makro

yesterday, and it was THB 555,i think it was half Kg.thats more expensive than the meat i would be putting it on.

Where were you in Sarawak? I spent a long time there. Yes the pepper is great. Last time i was there 2 years ago I noticed that many more people are now growing it.

Years ago it was a produce mainly grown by the Iban, and Dyak

I was only there for a couple weeks holiday, really enjoyed it, I have emailed several pepper producers, wanting a couple Kg

black pepper and a couple cases Black pepper sauce, but no joy, order must be too small for them to bother,so may have

to go back sooner or later.

The World's Best Pepper is Grown in Kampot, Cambodia.

Thats what they say.

I've brought Kampot pepper back from Cambodia and I like it very much. Does anyone know if genuine Kampot pepper can be found anywhere in Thailand? I have a bit left, but not much.
