Has anyone received a refund yet?

Hi everyone,

Happy to find this topic ; our flight to Chiang Mai was cancelled too.

I received an e-mail from kanair, asking if I want to get refunded (of course I want). But in the next e-mail, I was also asked my credit card number and name of the cardholder... did anyone face the same request ? Did you give them your number and received any refund? I'm a bit confused...

Just read in the BP that Kan Air have had to cancel so many routes basically because they set themselves up as a Charter airline with the DCA (thai aviation authorities) and started to operate as a scheduled airline which they were not licensed to do. Maybe its cheaper and faster to get licensed as a charter airline than a scheduled one? With all the heat the DCA is feeling for bending the rules, not applying the rules and being deficient by international safety standards they have made Kan Air cancel so many of new routes. Kan Air hope to resume these flights in October when they hopefully will be a fully licensed scheduled airline.

Id be a bit peeved if my flights were cancelled too. More so if it becomes an uphill battle to get a refund quickly. That said I have used Kan Air a couple of times from CNX to Nakon Ratchasima (Korat). It was a very good service and an enjoyable flight. I believe they also do a direct flight from CNX to Hua Hin for 1900 baht one way.

Hopefully Kan Air overcomes these hurdles as I like to see a bit of competition within the airline industry and with it alternative flight routes.

In the end after a lot of harassment by me they finally deposited the money into my bank account. (Even though I had used an Australian Visa credit card to pay for the tickets initially on the Internet).
