Jupiter and Venus have been there for a couple of weeks, visible from sunset for a couple of hours. They will get closer together towards the end of the month and the moon will come close to them in about a week.

I thought when I opened this thread it was about the reason man city have 3 stars on their shirt, I heard maybe they are there just to make the shirt look pretty and make out they are a big club but I could be wrong?.

Thanks for asking about that. I was pretty sure the upper, brighter object was Jupiter, but wondered about the other one. I'll never forget the shock of wonder I experienced when I once looked at Jupiter through a friend's amateur telescope. Visible were the band of stripes with the "Great Spot" (reputed to be a storm that never dies out), and four moons.

So hard to wrap one's head around the concept of a "gas giant", which is what Jupiter is, or so it is said.
