Where to purchase adjustable steel industrial shelving?

Looking to purchase a few steel adjustable shelving units. Sometimes there is one unit available at those second-hand shops around the outlying areas but they are generally way over-priced and in poor shape. Home Pro has cheap, Chinese-made units that are expensive. I don't need new, used is fine. I need a few of them. Any ideas? There used to be a place in Lamphun that did auctions once a month for industrial equipment and these were usually available but I've misplaced or lost the contact info. Anyone go to these auctions and have any info?

Thanks in advance.

I am fairly sure Chanfurniture, traveling around the superhighway with Festival on your left, just after Makro, sells this shelving

Thanks. I know the place. I'll check it out.

Not just what you are asking for but you can buy the components shown in your photo at hardware stores and with a hack saw, a file and a spanner easily build to your own specs. Long time ago I got that stuff at the building supply, equipment sale place on the south side super highway access road about 100 meters west of the Ping river in that section of the access road is 2 way.

Thanks Dante. I did do some research today and just like you said, it's quite easy to DIY on these things. I need to build a few of them so I'll start checking prices on the metal frame material. I can get the shelves cut at Suksawad.

Thanks to all...problem solved.

Sounds like what you are looking is Dexion. the brand name and a generic name for that type of shelving.as shown in the bottom photo. I was looking for it earlier this year for a project in Siskaret but could only find Chinese made shelving. If you google Dexion in Thailand you get more leads as it appears it is available here in Thailand, The good thing about Dexion (apart from quality) is that you can custom build you shelves and you can dismantle them and re-use if you move. For the bit extra you pay i view as more of an investment, Big boys meccarno !!

In Mahasarakham, both Thai Watsadu and Global house sell it...

its out the back of the main shop area where all the building

materials are

Should be the same where you are

A 3mtr length is about 125 Baht, or it was when i bought some.

Have a Nice Day.

They are selling four level "warehouse racks" today.

http://www.g3-auction.com/

Many thanks for that.

If it is still of any interest, the industrial shelving went for 10,500 baht in the last auction and 11,000 in the previous month.

After some research I constructed 4 X units myself, 2.0 X 1.4 X 0.5 meters in size (huge). I used 1.8 mm steel frames and 10 mm plywood. Total cost for 4 units (steel cut to order at Global House, plywood from Suksawad, hardware, etc.) was about 2,000 Baht each or 8,000 Baht for all 4 shelving units, 5 shelves each. Was a bit of work but I am very pleased with the end result.smile.png

Good cheap ready assembled shelves, Chiang Mai

Just bought 3 shelves as described above, from Saha Furniture, near "Old Chiang Mai Culture Center" at 1500 Baht each, and they'll mount them together free. Approx 35 cm x 75 cm, 185 cm high, with metal shelves, 2 colors available, light blue blue and black. The shelves are quite sturdy and suitable for storage of heavier stuff in a workshop. They are built of profiles as on the picture at the top here. For the asking price of 1700 Baht they would have delivered to near Baan Tawai.

Saha Furniture is the shop at the right side corner of Thipanet Road, before the Klong when coming from Central Airport. The shop has a mess of laundry racks, shelves and such outside.

I before went to Makro, HomePro, Global House, Thai Watsadu, expensive or not suitable for heavier loads.
