The 56th International Mathematical Olympiad will be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, from 4 to 16 July 2015.

The IMO 2015 will be hosted by The Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST) · Chiang Mai University · The Mathematical Association of Thailand under the Patronage of His Majesty the King · The Promotion of Academic Olympiad and Development of Science Education Foundation under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra (POSN).

The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is the World Championship Mathematics Competition for High School students and is held annually in a different country. The first IMO was held in 1959 in Romania, with 7 countries participating. Nowadays, there are over 100 countries participating from 5 continents.

CMU Co-Hosts The 56th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO2015)

Chiang Mai University was honored to co-host The 56th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO2015) during July 4-16, 2015 held at Chiang Mai University, with as many as 1,500 persons from 100 countries attending.

The International Mathematical Olympiad is the foremost international mathematical competition for pre-university students with the objective for finding brilliant young mathematicians from various countries. It is held annually and is the oldest academic mathematical Olympiad in the world. The first competition was held in 1959 in The Republic of Socialist Romania where only 7 countries had participated in the competition.

For this year’s 56th International Mathematical Olympiad, Thailand co-hosts the competition to celebrate H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn 60th birthday on April 2, 2015, and is co-hosted by the
• Science and Technology Teaching Promotional Institute, Chiang Mai University
• Mathematical Association of Thailand under the Patronage of the King
• The Promotion of Academic Olympiad and Development of Science Education Foundation under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra

CMU’s Associate Professor Dr. Sampan Singharajwarapan, Dean, Faculty of Science said that the Faculty of Science is the main office responsible in Chiang Mai University for the competition and has worked hard to prepare this event in order to warmly receive the competitors. This competition not only stimulates and creates an academic atmosphere, especially in mathematics, but it also supports the Thai youth to display their academic capacity while providing them inspiration to develop their potential.

My mother has a Baccalaureate in Mathematics and I could barely pass Algebra II in a US High School. Lost the Maths gene somehow...

i am not disputing your mother intelligence, work ethic, etc but what has she contributed to the betterment of mankind with her math degree? the real question at the end of a mans life is not what he did but what he helped/taught someone else to do/acomplish

Accomplished much of nothing and hardly ever worked. Instead relying on alliances with men, breeding and finally the courts for sustenance and wealth accumulation. Just like the Issaan BG Long Scam, but with an air of suburban respectability. Nothing to be proud of.
