Hi I bought a couple ( now deceased ) at the Chatuchak plant market in Bangkok, same site as the Chatuchak weekend market, at the Mo Chit BTS stop. the plant market is held on Wednesday and Thursday mornings.

I bought vanilla seeds off the Internet and thought in my nativity that I could just stick them in earth or something like that...good that I did some research before starting and it looks like a rather complex process.

Anyone experience with germinating orchid seeds

You need tissue culture/micropropagation laboratory/equipment and then still difficult with low germination/survival rate

Vanilla is still for sale on the jatujak market.

plant?

no plants but vines.....go there on wednesday and check all the stores....the store that sold them has many figtree's with english labels. He's at the back of the JJ-mall where you see it being under construction.

Has anyone had success with vanilla?  I heard that it's very difficult and not sure if they would grow at my small plot in Ubon.

They grow well in a shade house if you water them properly.

I took this picture in Cambodia close to Angkor, they told me the vines are 3 years old. They are selling healthy vine cuttings and can export them to Vietnam , Thailand, Laos etc...

I was told  that in vitro plants require much care, but cuttings are easier to grow and faster also.
