I was confident you would be paid. Often, foreigners are overly suspicious of people in other countries and are too certain they've been "ripped off" - too quickly. In the USA you would have waited longer to be reimbursed.

Sorry your having a hassle, hope it doesn't turn into an expensive one.

May I ask how they "forced you to pay" the hospital?

I ask as my last visit to a hospital here the bill wasn't correct and I refused to pay no matter how many people they had talk to me giving any explination they could think of. They even admitted they were wrong but insisted I pay the over charge. I ended just walking out after a few hours of trying to pay the correct amount. We now speak regularly by phone and hopefully someone with the authority to correct it, as the accounting manager is not empowered to, will solve this simple task.

They never pressured him at any time, but did not leave until the money had been paid to the hospital.

One TV member mentioned that for whatever reason he was unable to pay the balance of his bill at C.M. RAM upon discharge - using his debit card. Two days later a male and and a female nurse he recognized from RAM showed up at his home in a RAM van; along with a policeman, checking to see how he was feeling, and more importantly - when the hospital would be paid...
