PHUKET: -- A thief made off with B246,000 worth of computer tablets and audio equipment from a classroom of the Satree Phuket School over the weekend. Police are currently checking CCTV footage to help them find the thief.

At 8:30am today (July 20), Phuket City police were called to investigate the theft which took place at the Science & Math Centre on the fourth floor of the school .

Police were told that 10 computer tablets worth B240,000 and a B6,000 audio converter had been stolen from the room.

“The thief broke in via the front door and damaged the lock to get into the lab,” a teacher from the school told police.

Police have stated that there were footprint marks left on the floor and also fingerprints from where the thief had ransacked the room

A teacher said that the room had been locked on Friday evening (July 17) and that nobody had access to the room over the weekend.

However, upon arrival at the school today they found that the room had been broken into. All the cupboards in the room had been opened and several valuable items were missing.

Police are now cecking CCTV footage from the school in the hope it will lead them to the thief.

high dollar computers and they are left laying around in a classroom. I would disagree with the teacher who allowed no one had access to the classroom over the weekend. those 10 computers did not walk away themselves.

Maybe the computers were never there to start with if no one had access to the room. a audio converter is also missing. what is or where is a list of the other several valuable items missing from the cupboards? Sounds like no real inventory , safe storage for items of value, etc

Weird comments. The tablets did indeed work. No matter what you do, burglars can be discouraged, almost never prevented. Tablets that are blocked can be "unlocked" like cell phones and restarted. And yes, some of the tablets Yingluk promised were being delivered when the junta canned all the initiatives.

If they were any of YL's they are worth about 2400 each.......Retail. I think someone added a zero.
