Fiber optic Internet without frequent interruptions

Do you have it?

If so, how much do you pay per month? Is it possible to get this for around 1000 per month?

I know CAT offers a 1300/month fiber optic package. I am currently using their DSL, which was amazingly stable and useful for 4-5 years, but has been increasingly crap for the past 1.5 years. Since they have not made any serious effort to help me, but just try to push the 1300 baht/month package, at this stage I would rather change providers just to make a point.

I dont really need blazingly fast speeds. If I can watch 720p Youtube videos without interruptions, that is all I need. No torrenting, day trading or online gaming.

I'm in Nong Hoi, just south of Mahidol Road.

Thoughts, recommendations?

Hi, I am in Riverside Condos, Nong Hoi & use SiNet it's around 599 baht per month. It has been fine for me. They have a office/desk at "Festival" or there is a Promotions Board in the Lobby of Riverside Condo's with a phone number.

Hope this helps...

I get pretty consistent 25MB download speeds (via tne Speedtest app through a server in Yangon) with 3BB's fiber optic service, for about 1300 baht per month- outages have been very rare (at least in my area). For torrent downloads (I know you said you don't need torrenting, but it's a good way to rate the quality of the provider), I'll see ~3.3MB on occasion (averages are almost always over 1MB) which isn't bad. I had True Internet for a very short time- it seems they throttle torrent download speed (I was seeing ~100kb most of the time) and I got rid of it for the far superior 3BB service.

We have the same TOT 1.5mb/s that Rotweiler does and have only had one problem in 18 months (lots of others on here had the same problem and it was fixed within a week). I often stream full HD, and many times at the same time as Mr K is streaming live football in the other room without a problem. A lot depends on your exact location and what the cables and wires are like to there. Difficult maybe but if you can, talk to your neighbours - they will be able to tell you better than anyone else what the conditions locally are for various providers.

Be the change that you wish to see in the world.

I have TOT fiber2U, 25/3 990 Thb p.m., its very stable never

drops out at all,and lately it has been working a lot faster than

the first few months I had it,so at the moment pleased with it,

saying that ,nothing is guaranteed here and things can change

without notice,so fingers crossed .

Thanks to everyone who replied.

I had 3BB back when they called themselves TT&T. Maybe they've improved since then (I hope so) but their inconsistent handling of my DSL back then makes me reluctant to try them again, so I think I will head down to Festival and talk to TOT, SiNet and TRUE.

Did any of you have to pay a connection fee when you signed up?

If so, how much? CAT told me they normally charge a flat connection fee as well as a fee for the cable per length unit (forget which one they used) from the nearest connection point, but that they had a promotion, so such fees would be waived. This sounded a lot like sales talk, but maybe they were right and most providers will actually ask for this charge?

We paid a smallish connection fee - about 1,000 from memory, but we're in a condo and the lines were all already in place. Obviously if they have to get cable to your house, it will be more.

no charge for cable, just have to pay for router, they also have a

promotion at their Big C (super highway) office 700 THB instead of

2000 THB. starting 25/7/15.
