Silly Sausage Seller accepts “play money” from Foreigners in Pattaya Soi 6

PATTAYA: -- A 47 year old Esarn Sausage and dried squid vendor claimed he had been cheated out of 1000 Baht by a foreigner who purchased food from him in Soi 6.

Khun Langsarn reported to Police that he was on Soi 6 selling his food when a foreigner, described as “Brown skinned” approached him and spoke in Thai language asking the vendor if his sausages were tasty. The reply was predictable and a sale of 100 Baht’s worth of sausages took place.

In payment, the foreign man presented, what appeared to be a 1000 Baht note, and he was given 900 Baht in change.

I have a bridge in London and a tower in Paris I'd like to sell to this guy.....

If I were him I would keep the story as a secret... maybe he is more interested in buying the Colosseum?

Soi Six Silly Sausage...........rolleyes.gif

there are a few on here who have had the odd silly sausage on soi 6 i bet

How about the silly sausages that went to the US Embassy to ask if the bundles of 100 Mio. Dollar notes found in the safe of a hi-so scammer are genuine?

A Soi Six Silly Sausage Vendor? There's a lot of alliteration in that line.

Noticeably, the article made a great subtle racist comment by identifying the man as being from Esarn, which the Bangkok elite equate with buffaloes, which panders to their readership.

Personally I thought they were referring to the type of sausage as being Esarn style.

That's exactly what it meant, ID-ing the man as from Esarn would have been written as "Esarn sausage...vendor". Capitalised "Esarn Sausage...vendor" refers to the type of sausage he was selling.

....must have been a slow day....

...he can only use that story once though....

Hope they find the guy who did it.

and fine him a lot for this. ( a good kicking as well ) 1zgarz5.gif

We have all done this with the girls in the bars when its time for check bin or a Tip but

its a joke and everyone laughs, you don't do it for real.

The guy cant afford to be ripped off like this.

what kind of message does this send out . !!!!!!

who ever you are shame on you. bah.gif

So vendor had net loss of 100 baht. But to counter that, look at all the free publicity he is getting! How many might want to drop by and meet this 'silly" man? And perhaps buy a sausage or two. maybe not so dumb after all.... it was funny Thai money, one would hope he has seen a real thousand note at some point in his life....

How do we know the "brown-skinned" customer deliberately cheated the silly sausage? It is quite possible he didn't know that the note he handed over was not the real thing. What amazes me is that a Thai vendor of anything could be so easily fooled. They are usually chili hot when it comes to money.

And how would the media in your respective countries react, if a Thai person did the same to a vendor?

Some empathy for this man's plight might be appropriate.....

Hope they catch the scumbag who tried to cheat a poor working man and deport him.

how did you work that out mate. ?

Looks like he lost 900 baht plus the cost of the ingredients for the sausage.

I could be wrong ?

That would be Silly Soi Six Spicy Sausage Seller Scammed by Swarthy Skinned Stranger - surely.

"Are your sausages tasty?"

"Of course they are"

Diesel fumes.....Petrol fumes.....Urine fumes from the drains.....

All topped off with "Fly" droppings

PASS

Bad luck on the Guy though........there should be a whip-round for him.......

Not exactly. From the article: "the foreign man presented, what appeared to be a 1000 Baht note, and he was given 900 Baht in change."

Why the favouritism, let us all have a chance of buying them.

How reliable is this vendor ?

How can he know which customer presented him with the dodgy 1000 Baht note ?

He appears quite proud in the pic presenting how he was duped.

my mailman wants exact change .... he has never coins to exchange

so now, i tip him when my iherb arrive and he is so well trained, that he just takes the money and drives off

Would this topic have had many replies if had it not mentioned Sio 6???

Unbelievable! A lot of you here leave me speechless! If this had been a farang ripped off by a Thai, you'd be all over it with comments of "Thainess" "TIT" "you can't trust Thais" etc. Instead people are mocking the victim and going so far as to mock his "nice haircut"

What a bunch of absolute hypocritical t)rds

Look, so he's no Einstein.

Just scratching out a living with a food cart.

Maybe he doesn't see many 1000s. ermm.gif

No one can be that stupid ? He is making it up.

You don't know that.

He may indeed have issues.

It's a hard life peddling sausages on the street.

I think most people would be so ashamed of being taken that way that they would not only not call the police, they wouldn't tell anybody!
