Have looked at Elna, along moat road near park. Elvira on HK road, near Shell petrol. Singer in old city. And various shops near Wororat market, including 2 nd hand ones. New will be 5K baht or more, up to 25K baht for top Japanese model.

I went to Singer but he had no models on display. Better to try Elna or Elvira. Both had many models and many ladies learning in shop.

Most are on and along Chiang Moi Road, near the fabric shops. They are no cheaper than the Elna or Elvira shops (that was my experience a couple of years ago).

Be the change that you wish to see in the world.

Near the big red chinese gate on Chiang Moi road. One shop, very near gate, has many but most 2nd hands are already on desk. These were formerly treadle types, now converted to electric motor. Not very portable. Some shops have industrial types. Konini may be accurate that for a novice esp, go with new one with online or paper instruction and some kind of back-up.
