Income Affidavit

Featured Replies

Can I print out a Income Affidavit and take it to the Airforce Base here in the USA.

Have them put a Notary Stamp on it will Thai Immigration accept it or does it have

to be done at the US Embassy in thailand.

It has to be done at the embassy. Immigration will not accept anything else.

I live in Kalasin Thailand. I have a notary here sign the income affidavit, 500 Baht. I post this with the 1,500 Baht fee to the Canadian Embassy in Bangkok, with a copy of the funds going into an account. It saves me a trip to the big city, to extend my Non O yearly.

That might work for the Canadian embassy but not the US embassy.

The embassy still puts their stamp on it or it would not be accepted by immigration.

The Canadian Embassy writes a letter for Immigration stating that I have the required funds. I think it probably has their stamp on it also.

I understand the poster not being able to have it done in the U.S.

The U.S. Embassy does not ask for proof of funds, only your verbal declaration, the Canadian Embassy does want to see proof of funds..

Has the US Embassy or immigration changed in terms of what the do/accept? Used to be able to go into the US Embassy, fill out a form and they would sign and stamp it.

No I think you can still lie about the income as they do not ask for the bank statement, but Immigration will want to see the bank deposit, with the embassy letter. The funds can be in any country, using the monthly income method 65,000 Baht. Proof of only one months deposit is necessary.

The US Embassy/Consulate will still provide an affidavit nothing has changed.

The Thai immigration service has always had the right to ask for evidence which can/will support the income claimed in an affidavit.

At what immigration office is this? I ask because not all offices are the same.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

Not entirety true. the U.S. consulate requires you to be present in front of a consulate officer and signing the form in front of him. Signing that form you are swearing/affirming that it is correct under penalty of law.
