I just had this test and they said my result was 1. I get the official report at 3PM. I don't understand this scale. Can someone direct me to a website or explain it.

Thanks in advance

Quick Google seems to indicate that only your doctor will have access. Perhaps due to other factors having to be evaluated (rather than increasing cost). But have no knowledge other than a quick Google. Suspect your 3PM report will give you more information and indicate if any change is required.

That's what I am hoping at 3PM. The device website was little help. Like you said this info is very important. I suspect the device maker wants you to talk to your Dr.

Lab said off the cuff that <15 is good and that mine was very good.

I have some time and I thought I might get some help here in the interim.

if you are doing pt/inr, a range of 2.0 to 3.0 is a common desired range. range must be set by a doc.

i use the coaguchek and check pt/inr weekly. i am on coumaden/warfaren for life due to a DVT.

coaguchek is a hand held device which gives readings with in a min.

I have read about INR extensively. That is the part that doesn't make sense. He said less than 15 was normal.

With this meter do you do a conversion with that number he gave me?

I have my results. PT, %PT, and INR 1.0.

It all makes sense now. The range of 2.0 to 3.0 is for people on warfarin that have had problems with clots. I have learned many things today and I wanted to thank people that responded to my post.
