Just Bought A New Samsung J 1 And Have(d) No Idea About Certain Applications...

Sawasdee Khrap,

I have to admit that I knew almost nothing about touchscreen phones, even when I bought one for my wife three moons ago, but the set up is in Thai in she made it to two games "already."

First, I smiled about her and made some jokes. But when I bought my phone, I was completely in the rain and I've only learned how to use a few applications.

It's good to have friends and I finally received an owner's manual from a friend. I thought it's worth sharing this one with you guys, as there might be more "specialists" who've got some problems how to use all the applicants, and most importantly which ones.

Wish you guys a nice and long weekend. thumbsup.gif

Bbut you shared nothing lol selfish man.

Can't attach a simple 40 MB PDF file. TVF techies might have an answer to this problem, it happened quite a few times before.

Will try it again tomorrow, sorry.....

Probably simpler to create a DropBox account, copy the .pdf to the PUBLIC folder, let it 'sync' to the cloud, grab the "Public Link", and post that here.

It's what I use for posting images to ThaiVisa.

Added bonus: using DropBox allows me the ability to go back and edit or touch-up an image later if I needed for clarity.

Thanks, you're the man. It's really a good program and very useful for work, keeping files in one folder, etc.....

Here's the link, please let me know if you're successful.....and thanks a lot once more. thumbsup.gif

Nope. That didn't work.

You need to install the DropBox software on your PC, log it into your account,

Find (or assign additional folders to be) your DropBox "Public Folder",

place the item you want to sync and 'share' in the "Public Folder",

wait for the item to have a 'checkmark' appear on the icon badge (meaning the sync has started), then

'right-click' the item and select "copy public link"

...this is the link that allows others to view items in your public folder without needing to have their own DropBox account.

note: the DropBox app only needs to be running long enough for the file to 'sync', otherwise can be left 'closed' when not needed. Files already 'synced' to the cloud are available 24/7.

Next...

In your forum post,

When posting links it's best to assign url links to typed text (rather than post them naked), so

type some title text in your post, highlight that text, use the forum post editor 'url link' icon and 'paste' the copied DropBox url there. I also like to bold my links to make them stand out. Done.

If you were instead inserting a graphic from your DropBox Shared Folder to appear in your post, you'd use the forum post editor 'image' icon and post the url link to your image.

Optionally, use the (More Reply Options) or (Preview Post) buttons below the editor window to make sure everything appears as you'd like in your final post,

Not sure exactly what you are hoping to do but maybe you are looking for the User's Guide for a SM-J100F?

http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201501/20150120171652803/SM-J100_UM_Kitkat_Eng_Rev.1.0_150112.pdf

Usually pretty easy to find these on line, and if you want to share just give the link.

And you can look at some Youtube videos to get a feel for usage, tips and tricks.

I just looked at the pseudo-link and infer you are referring to the series of books, "Samsung Galaxy Tips, Tricks, Apps & Hacks", Volume 2 in your case.

I'm not sure it is acceptable to share copyright material in this fashion, but I am not a Mod here, nor am I familiar with the details of ToS here.

There are a ton of Youtube videos which cover both generalized Android use, and model-specific use, which might be a help for you learning your new phone.

Thanks a lot, haven't really thought about copyrights. Thanks a lot for your post. wai2.gif
