Question about MIFI compatibility

Featured Replies

I understand that a MIFI is different from an aircard that it has its own router built in.

I want to purchase a ZTE MF90 MIFI , and connect it to a router by USB, since I have Ethernet throughout the house, but can't find any 4G router that has this one in it's compatibility list.

So is it possible to connect a MIFI to any router with a USB port, and is compatibility not a question because there is a router built-in in the device?

That model isn't a USB 'stick' (USB modem), it's self-contained WiFi Router with 2300mAh Battery and micro USB port for recharging.

The micro USB port also 'supposedly' allows for USB Tethering to a PC (I don't think this is the same protocol as USB modem so not compatible with 3G/4G Router use).

So in short I can scrap this device from my list, since most of the devices that need to connect to it are not WIFI enabled, and connecting it to my PC has completely no use for me.

Thanks for the, as always, excellent information.

Not sure about MF90 but I have got MF60 and it works with my Dual WAN router Draytek 2910 VG via USB.
