Has anybody shipped by train?

My wife flies Nok Air this week to Bangkok. Their check on baggage allowance is low, 15 kg.

EVA Air allows 2 bags at 28 kg each.

She wants to ship by train to Bangkok, but since no one will accompany it, I'm concerned the boxes might be stolen, or simply misplaced.

Experiences?

Suggestions?

i only got 30 kg checked on Eva air, if you by a ticket at Nok air you can choose and pay for more kg's

.

EVA to the States is 2 bags, 28 kg each, no extra charge. I think Europe is only one bag.

NOK only allows 15 kg extra, for 500 baht.

I'd pay cash money to see someone ship by train from the USA to BKK.

Better read again.

His wife flies first within Thailand and on that flight they dont allow the same amount of luggage as the second leg of the trip. But she wants 2x 28 kg so either she pays extra with the first flight or find an alternative.

All true, I'm sure. But the OP doesn't mention a point of origin, and the post I'm replying to mentions allowances from Europe and the States.

I figured I'd just pile on....

I have seen how Nakhon Chai Air buses checks baggage on and off, much more secure than the trains I think. Why can't she take the bus if she is worried?

As said OP failed to provide a route to Bangkok and his listed location is not found by Google or is another town he mentions. His posting only provides below:

Rhek Thum is a hole containing 3000 people. But there are 67 hair salons.

As said most people use bus transport for packages - but might it not be better to depart with less so plenty of room for return with bought items - rather than at full weight limit for outbound flight.

Thanks for the suggestions. All good advice.

I checked the Thai Post Office website, and it appears my wife can ship a 28 kilogram box, EMS with tracking, for a bit over 500 baht to Bangkok. If that turns out to be accurate, that seems the best, most secure way.

I've bought quite a bit of stuff from far flung areas in Thailand through Craigslist, OLX, Bahtsold, etc. and never had a problem receiving the packages via EMS and Thai Post. And pretty cheap for the shipping...
