Hi, anyone know of any specialist (apart from Barcelona Motors) in Chiang Mai area? there is the fantastic ST Autos in BKK but just an outside chance there might be someone who repairs the local Coopers in this area?

What period Mini Cooper are you asking about? Jimmy (J & N Auto Service---Google this name for the web site, phone number and map) would be an excellent choice for an original Mini. Depending what you want done, he may not be able to do some of the more complex items on a new Mini, but you can call him to ask---he speaks excellent English.

Sorry but why would anyone buy a mini? I had 3 friends in the states 2 new one 1 year old all sold for a loss and they didn't have them for more 3 months. Felt lucky to get rid of them!

The women like them - high on the cutsie scale....

Not too high on the functionability scale....college student short commute worthy.....

I sure would not want to be on one in a car crash.....

Did see a nice older one the other day by airport plaza - had forgotten how really tiny those were/are.....

Cute car. I'd take the critical comments posted earlier with a very big pinch of salt.

I'm aware you were talking about the new mini and that was the car I meant. The old minis have gone the way of the dodo. They say the 2 happiest days of a boat owners life is the day they bought and the day they sold. I did know 3 guys and total time owned a mini was3 months would have sold sooner but they were in for repairs

It depends on the kind of work you need done. For anything that requires electronic troubleshooting, including any electrical fault or engine/driveline problems, your best bet is probably an independent BMW shop, which will be familar with the OBDII codes. Don't let a mechanic work on the car if he doesn't use the OBD scanner first, that's just guesswork and a sign of a hack. You might try the one near Sarasas Witthayakom. But if it is something very specific to your model, like trim, you may be stuck with a dealer like Barcelona.

BM Auto Service behind Sarasad Withaed school on Chareon Muang rd service both BMW's and Mini Coopers. Try Chareon Muang Soi 3 I think. Enter exactly where the school is with a sharp left turn into it if coming from superhighway. About 300 Metres in and should be on the right.
