Visine for Eyes

Featured Replies

I often used Visine In America due to my Allergies I sometimes get red and itchy eyes. Can you buy Visine in Thailand and if so where? Also if I cannot is there an alternative, I have

tried a few I have found on the shelves here but they dont seem to do anything at all.

thanks all

No, not sold here, I have a similar problem. Yes, the ones sold here in a similar capacity don't seem to do what Visine does.

Best have someone ship you some from the states or wherever you are from. I used to get on yearly trips to the Philippines, but even there they have stopped. I still bought a couple of their generic Visines, but have yet to try them out.

I get red and itchy eyes if I don't use my oxygen machine at night. I had a real in the hospital sleep test done they said I needed 6 liters of oxygen a minute at night. OK during the day. Three days after getting the machine and hooking it up to my C Pac my eyes stopped itching. Don't know if that will help you or not. Only a real sleep test in the hospital can diagnose that. Currently on holidays and three weeks away have started using an eye wash. Helps but still a little itchy.

No Visine here but Hista Opth works well for me. Price ranges from 30-100 Baht at pharmacies.

Vilslube comes in small little one day ampules. I go it at sripat so it should be available at the large CMU pharmacy on Suteph.

I asked this same question years back and received two sources of two different locations. I checked them both out and they both quit selling it..... I've tried numerous Thai varieties but none seem to give me the results that Visine did.... so I just tough it up and drink more so my eyes get to the maximum redness then I sleep it off.

Good luck and if you do come across some please post a reply as to where you found it.

Never found it in Chiang Mai. Visine had some quality/safety issues a few years ago and they stopped selling it in Singapore.

I was just going to mention that Visine has been banned by most Asian countries due to hygene issues. It is probably still available in the US who don't have the same requirements.

This company makes the best drops I've tried: rohtoeyedrops.com. Don't know if they can be found in CM but worth ordering online.

Visine is a simple vaso-constrictor. All it does is shrink blood vessels for a period of time, but with repeated use the eye fights back and you end up with redder eyes. If you want a truly therapeutic eye drop get professional advice.

I was told the same by a pharmacologist in the US.

If you have determined and specified allergies that cause eye irritation you must use drops that deal specifically with the cause. That is the only way to deal effectively at the issue. Most pharmacies will ask a few simplistic questions and then as great a "remedy". They simply are not qualified to deal with eye problems. Your eyes are critically important, the only visible part of your brain. Do not play around with what you put in your eye, you could cause irreperable damage.

As mentioned above, I'd get professional advice. At least from a qualified pharmacist. I use to have very dry eyes and had a solution that helped a bunch. Visine isn't really good for your eyes. Just masks the underlying problem.

I find Alcon eye drops are pretty good at getting the red out. Available everywhere.
