Hi all. I've been reading the various threads dealing with going to immigration for the annual retirement extension. What I haven't seen is anyone getting the multiple entry stamp after doing their extension.

In the past, I have gone in, done the retirement extension, walked out to get the required copies, come back in and got the multiple entry stamp the same day. From all I have read, this doesn't sound possible anymore. Has anyone tried it and been successful (or unsuccessful)?

It was nice to be able to do both at the same time.

I did just that this week. You'll need to have your retirement extension done in the morning, have your passport returned to you after lunch, then hope there is still space available in the re-entry permits queue.

Thanks ovenman. It is nice to do it in one day thought I really don't mind coming back.

As said the key is getting your passport back in time. I don't believe there is much of a line for the multiple reentry. I went in after lunch a month ago and got a single reentry in about an hour.

I went to Promenada at 11 am last Thursday. Documents checked at the outdoor desk, given a queue number, walked straight in and was processed in 10 minutes. Passport stamped on the spot and 3800 baht paid.

Can't get any better than that, and the Immigration officer almost cracked a smile!
