"These are items any average household has."

Oh yes, the average house has a canvas vest similar to suicide bombers and loads of 1.5mm ball bearings lying around. Why just yesterday my wife said "Darling, we need to go to Tesco, we're running low on ball bearings"

RT@RichardBarrow: Photos of some of the “evidence” found in the apartment of the suspected bomber - RT @sataporn_pptv: http://t.co/4qMBGZliOP #Thailand

I sure hope they found more evidence than this.

These are items any average household has.

I dont see a canvas vest nor ball bearings in those pictures. Maybe its my eyesight...

You're absolutely right about that, Lukecan. Thailand is a HUB of racial and national profiling.

Israelis behaving so poorly that they are rejected as a group in tourist areas is certainly not a phenomenon limited to Thailand. I am not saying it is right to deny service to them based upon nationality but their antics are widely known across the world and they have made their own reputation.

Hope they got the right guy to get back on topic.

So let's say there are a bunch of Uyghur refugees in Thailand. And there some Turks of Uyghur descent in Thailand as well. And they are running a little human pipeline. That pipeline needs a big apartment or two. And some fake Turkish passports.

Now let's say a bunch of these people get rounded up and deported back to China. And now the apartment is pretty empty. Except for a pile of fake passports and one or two angry of Uyghurs who managed to avoid the deportation dragnet.

Then let's say that anger manifests itself, and with a little help from outside, a plan is hatched to take revenge on the Thai people and their government. So a few new guys come to Thailand, move in to the apartment for a while, do their business, and leave. But one guy sticks around.

Until 29 August, when the RTP arrives in force.

This is just a story I made up.

Sounds reasonable. Just a missing piece, that the little human pipeline was part of a network to get militants to Turkey and Syria to fight for ISIL. And, if the 5 rooms were related to the mass deportation, shouldn't RTP have kept the rooms under surveillance? Your theory is plausible and provides another example of how RTP failed miserably leading to the bombing.

I have been thinking less positive thoughts about Turkey lately. They are obviously the major conduit for ISIL foreign recruits. And it's not so obvious they are doing much about it. One could almost be convinced they are hoping ISIL will wipe out the Kurds.

Another one of my crazy theories.

Thanks for the genuine laugh. I must say that the first three pages of comments contain some of the most laughable comments I have ever read on TV.

The police didn't have a clue. He got grassed up by a Thai neighbour. So I guess luck was on their side. But still...innocent till proven guilty. They don't even know his identity yet.

RT@vaitor: Local Thai Media stating Police raided suspects house and identified him as a Turkish national (28 years old) -http://t.co/VvFY1FjMeC

CNkCjz4UsAAVfsQ.jpg

The only similarity between the photo and the picture is both have a head with ears on it.

I can't see his right ear, but his left ear looks very much like that in the identification photo...

Should not usually both Ears always look similar? So far I can not remember to see a Person with two different Ears on his Head.

Ear, Ear!

I can't believe the people here slating this new news and event/arrest.. People moaning the photofit isn't exactly like him etc.. If people were to look at the lips, nose, cheek bones separately they are a fair match, the photofit has spectacles and hair the suspect doesn't (in this photo), so what? Does the word "disguise" pop into anybody's mind? I hope the RTP have got it right and followed good procedure and get this animal (if it is indeed him) banged up - or shot.

If some Turk wanted to carry out a terrorist attack, they'd carry it out on Kurds, not Thais. I call this BS

Scissors, duct tape, I have them at my home too.

HERE IS WHY!!!

For people that don't know, a few months ago Thailand deported several hundred refugees back to China and Turkey. They were hiding in Thailand, and were being held in camps to determine what to do with them. The press said they were sent back to China, but many were sent back to Turkey as well. The refugees claimed to be Turkish.

From the beginning, I thought this bombing smelled like payback for sending their buddies back to the governments that were repressing them and probably sending them back to death or certain prison.

If these are Turks,,,,,it is a direct result of those deportations.

Here is your Turkey connection for you people that didn't follow the deportations....read this article. TURKEY is heavily involved.

http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/07/10/us-thailand-uighurs-turkey-idUSKCN0PK0E420150710

So they are terrorists after all.

Seems like the Thai government did the right thing.

Not that I buy it for a minute.

Still have a lot of work , search for trace of explosive around. Check the téléphones of this Guy

You need to get on with the program for TV posters. The police will just sit on their hands, they are completely useless, corrupt and lazy like all Thai people. /s

Great news for me! Being a Turkish citizen myself, I'm sure I'll face more discrimination from Thais because of this.

I had to do a border run a week after the Thai consulate in Istanbul was attacked, and they interrogated me for about 10 minutes. Now probably I'll have much more difficult time at Thai embassies and border crossings.

I really hate being born as a Turk and a muslim, all the time I have to pay for the stupidity of my country's citizens.

That passport is definitely fake btw, but the term Turk is attached to this event anyway so Thais will always remember Turks as the bad guys.

Yes, sadly you are probably correct in your statement. But you can't take this personally. Had the Fake Passport been British or American, they would be watching closely for that to.

Having 100,000 + Fake Turkish Passports out their is not helping your cause either. Not sure who is to blame for that. But you just have to take this on the cheek and allow yourself extra time when leaving the country.

did they find TNT or other explosives ?

at least in the USA they now have "tags" in the explosives so you can see if they came from the same source ,

Whatever , this got a few bad guys off the street that were up to something ,

who was the lady in green with headscarf on the video at the apartment , did he bring his family with him ?

more humble pie eaten here today than at a free sunday lunch for the local catholic nun's choir !! gigglem.gif

According to Bangkok Post the police reacted on a tip. Based on this are you saying that those who have expressed certain reservations regarding the professionalism of the RTP should now feel ashamed?

Seriously???
