I am doing due dilligence on a small block of land with Chanote.

What is the aproximate cost of getting it surveyed to confirm the current pegs are in the right spot.

Get the land office to do the survey. It will be offical and cost for such here in mid-Phuket was about 1500 baht four years ago. You will want the neighbors to agree on the location of the survey stakes, that is a part of the official Chanote process.

But why do the neighbours have to agree? What if they are not cooperative?

^^^ because the guy at the land office has more authority than you. If the neighbours have sneaked some of the land , you get it back and vice versa. Saves hassles later.

All the people that have land joining yours have to be there to sign that they agree with the land office that way you will not have any problems later
