I have a ninja 300, i want to replace the slip on( exhaust) not full system, but im just wondering, if i were to use a copy akrapovich for example, would the engine be damaged ?

If you change the end piece of the exhaust only, you are simply allowing gases to exit the engine quicker. But, if you are not changing anything on the intake side, there will be no increase in gas flow anyway.

Your engine will not take in more air, nor more petrol unless you modify the intake / fueling system (which is what people who want extra, or better delivery of power, do when they add an open exhaust).

If you modify the intake / fueling you could cause damage due to incorrect fuel / air mix, but with just the exhaust all you will get is more noise, and fines.

The only risk to the engine from doing what you want to do is that the bike gets confiscated and the police thrash it round the compound until you go and get it back!

In bkk they don't fine for noisy exhausts unless it is on a scooter

Pattaya they seem to enforce it a bit more seriously

1k fine is overkill also, when I do something wrong I can usually bargain it down to 200,sometimes even 100 if I'm not on a big bike

No problems.. drive like a normal person, don't over rev the bike.. in front of the police...and you are fine...generally... I have a slip.. on..,,but I don't ride in BKK.. Down south..CBR 300.R

Overandout thanks for the reply, so i guess an akrapovich or yoshimura copy will do just fine? Why would an original exhaust be better anyways(only slip on)

Well.. workmanship, authenticity... I have a copy AKRAPOVICH... Works fine.. about 6.5K..Sorry can't remember the site.. type in two brothers...they have a nice web page and assortment of exhaust systems...

On the pegs.
