passport (married name) biometric residence permit (maiden name)

hi i'm hoping someone can help... my wife has leave to remain in the uk, when she applied her passport was in her maiden name, so the biometric residence permit was also issued in her maiden name (even though we were married) as we did not have the time to change her passport before she came to the uk. Her passport has recently expired so she has applied for a new one in her married name. I think this causes us a problem since she wants to visit Thailand soon, and we will not have time to get her BRP changed to our married name. can she still travel to Thailand and then be allowed back into the UK? all being well she will return before 3 months after receiving her new passport so she will be within the time allowed for informing UKBA of her change of name.
