Onlookers probably assumed it was husband and wife fighting etc

I've seem people fighting and even the police don't want to get involved in a domestic violence here unless it's really serious injuries

Nothing to do with greng Jai

Just when Thai people see a bf/gf fighting they rarely intervene

I like it, I like it a lot :)

Funny how the Thai police ignored that assault and carry on as if it didn't happen... I saw another video of a guy who did something terrible, forget what it was.. Maybe a rape , and while he was on the ground with hands cuffed behind his back a member of the public walked over and soccer kicked him in the face... :)

Police didn't care in that case either

And why should they, should have allowed another free kick for being off-side.

The women should have been allowed to kick in the cojones, ups forgot he dont have any ...

Amazing no men could take him out when they see him assault women in MRT ...

Why is that exactly? It seems no one helps each other.

Maybe that is the question? Did she ask for help? I have known more than one Thai woman who was more than willing to assert her position if provoked.

Maybe it was good her brothers weren't there to help?

The Bystander Effect

"The bystander effect, or bystander apathy, is a social psychological phenomenon that refers to cases in which individuals do not offer any means of help to a victim when other people are present. The probability of help is inversely related to the number of bystanders. In other words, the greater the number of bystanders, the less likely it is that any one of them will help.."

'Siam mafia' man nabbed, faces assault, theft charges
THE NATION

BANGKOK: -- A 38-YEAR-OLD Laotian man - known in the social media as the "Siam Mafia" thug after footage of him allegedly attacking a woman on a Bangkok subway went viral - has been arrested.

Apart from the charge of illegal entry into Thailand and the charge of assault, Weerapan Inthawong, who was arrested at the Sutthisan metro station on Tuesday evening, also faces a separate charge of stealing another woman's iPhone, said Pathumwan superintendent Pol Colonel Jarut Sarutayaporn.

Although the social media claimed Weerapan had intimidated and assaulted several people in the Siam Square area, Jarut said a police probe found Weerapan had committed only three attacks: The September 4 subway assault; stealing a masseuse's iPhone on August 10; and the August 12 assault of a 17-year-old boy at Siam Paragon Mall.

Weerapan confessed to having sneaked into Thailand to live in Bangkok and sell clothes for a living - but he denied stealing the iPhone.

Pol Maj-General Chayapol Chatchaidech, Metropolitan Police Bureau's Division 6 commander, urged other victims to come forward and file assault or theft complaints against Weerapan.

An informed source reported that Weerapan had falsely claimed to be a relative or subordinate of influential people such as former Bangkok senator Chatchawal Kong-udom and former Chon Buri politician Somchai "Kamnan Poh" Khunpluem.

No, it's because no one on helps on TV. In the Thai dramas when one is attacked, the response is

standing around looking and saying "oy! oy! oy! oy! oy! oy! oy!"

If it weren't for social media nowadays, crimes like these will be overlooked a mile away....

well at least there is one way to get the RTP to actually do their job...

was it a tip off again this time which allowed the police to "nab" the guy? Always seems like it...

Imagine, that Thailand decides to shut down the entire network telecommunication, the citizens and their tech savvy kids would go paranoia beyond anything irreparrable brain damage than madhouses in Thailand could ever treat

Many of the dozens of music videos using the "slap" on Thai social media are very funny.

I particularly like the one set to the Star Wars Imperial March (Darth Vader's theme), but some set to Thai luk thung hits are good too.

This was by far the best Police press conference I have ever seen I really liked it

The officer had the victims point to assailant with the second woman having her finger moved right to the head of the purp (LOL)

With a grin on his face ( THE COP) he brought the hand close enough so the lady can get one last swipe in

Oh I love that officer

He has leveled the playing field
