PATTAYA: -- Undercover Pattaya Police Officers conducted a covert operation in Jomtien in the early hours of Monday which resulted in the arrest of a suspected drug dealer from Iran and the seizure of class 1 drugs.

The operation took place in front of the Foodmart 24 Hour Convenience Store in Jomtien where undercover Police Officers were able to purchase 1.8g of Crystal Meth from Mr. Reza Rostami aged 31.

The suspect was arrested and the drugs were seized and then Mr. Rostami was escorted to his rented apartment at the Rimhard Jomtien Beach Condominium where a further 51.9g of the class 1 drug was found.

The suspect claimed he used to work as a musician at a bar on Walking Street, but recently lost his job due to poor customer numbers at his bar. He decided the only way he could fund his stay in Thailand would be to sell drugs.
