Wireless internet options

Featured Replies

So i "upgraded to the best true internet option" . its easily one of the worst internet services I've ever experienced, and i pay about 1,100 baht for it..

any other options ladies and gents?

Many threads on this.

My input has, and still is, AIS fibre. Free android box included. Last month we received a promotion. 350 per month..first three months free. No problems with the connection. It includes router, tv channels, android box. Deposit was one thousand..but we already got that back from true.

Though, like Jethro Clampett found out, you can only drive away so far before the line goes taught. **

As this is in the Mobile Internet and Devices forum, I believe the OP means "TrueMove-H Mobile Data Internet"

But who knows, could be subscribed to WiFi Hotspot given the lack of details they've provided.

** When I was 1970's young, we had a 500ft phone extension for use out in the back yard. I thought that was really cool.

Kids these days don't know anything about cool.

Jethro is dead.

But anyways...you are correct...I did not realize it was in the "mobile" forum.

I think the Grammar in the title of this forum needs tightening, at first I read it as for 'Mobile' only, then I thought they'd forgotten a comma, now I'm even more confused.

I have a FTTx question, before I waste my time, is this the right sub thread? Thanks...

Could you try posting your question again, this time giving a bit more details on your HP laptop and how is connects to "AIS WiFi 2G", and how you pay 1950/month???

WiFi HotSpot service costs 99-100 thb/m.

And "2G" would only give you GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) 40 Kbit/s, or EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution) 384 - 512 Kbit/s.

So, maybe you mean you're using an AIS 3G USB Air Card or Pocket WiFi. Giving us the model number of your HP Laptop, the OS version, and model number of the DEVICE you're using to get the laptop on the Internet will go a long way to getting you the help you need.

Your .pdf point so a 3BB speedtest instruction sheet ...if you want to test your active air-interface speed then it's best to use the ISPs speed test.

The AIS 3G Pocket WiFi device (1599 thb) is capable of 21.6 Mbit/s download speed.

A special 'promotion' includes a monthly option to receive 1GB DATA for 199 baht (399 baht normally) at 'unlimited Internet speeds'.
Once you exceed 1GB your speed with be throttled through the end of the month.
Normally, you have to select an AIS 'Add-on Data Package' that will last you through whatever time period you've subscribed.
Many people will utilize subscription packages that can immediately be renewed when they've expended their GB Data allocation, others will use multiple SIM cards each subscribed to a Data Internet package and rotate through the SIM cards as they use their data allotment for the month (since the subscription won't renew until the following month).
IF you have an active AIS data subscription with data remaining but are suffering through slow speeds, then I would suggest trying other tower locations to see if it is tower related, or take your setup to an AIS shop and ask then to check the device and SIM.

I use True Move 3g Sim in Dongle and Smartphone at 199 Baht a month plus vat gives 1gb of data access is for 30 days and drops to 2g if the limit reached. In addition you have free wifi included in the package.

Even the most expensive same style package is only 699 for 6gb with speed dropping if limit reached.

I find even with only 1gb the wifi constantly kicks in and after 3 weeks have used just 248mb of that original 1gb

Outstanding speed as well
