Help needed to identify/understand significance of my gift.

Hi all,

I recently received two gifts from my in-laws. I'm trying to understand (appreciate) the significance of the gifts (from a religious/Buddhist perspective). Pictures attached.

1. a gold-rimmed amulet with an engraved stone.

2. a stone tile (similar in dimension to a domino) with a bearded-man holding a staff, with script on the reverse.

Any further explanation for either item would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

J

Nothing significant as in there meaning from what I see. I was given the same by the Police at a charity stand when I donated in the box.

There are literally thousands of amulets the same kind in Thailand.

A monk with a walking stick, a Buddha.

Thanks for your reply - Geez, I hope they're not expecting a 'charitable donation' in return, because they're going to be disappointed.

Cheers,

J
