PM's Office Minister Suwaphan says selection of CDC and NRSA is in the final stage

BANGKOK, 3 October 2015 (NNT)-Prime Minister's Office Minister Suwaphan Tanyuwatthana has revealed the selection of members for the Charter Drafting Committee (CDC) and the National Reform Steering Assembly (NRSA) is currently in its final stage. The issue is being considered by Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha. The minister expects that the names will be revealed to the public shortly.

Public urged to monitor the Koh Tao murder trial by Burmese investigators

KOH SAMUI: -- Zaw Lin and Wei Phyo, the two men who stand accused of the murders in Koh Tao last September, are innocent and should be cleared of all charges according to a team of investigators representing the Burmese Government who spoke to reporters in Rangoon on Thursday. During the press interview the team urged the public to monitor the case as it continues on the 10th and 11 of this month, on what are due to be the final hearing dates.

Prominent figures apply for a seat on the NACC

BANGKOK, 3 October 2015 (NNT) – A total of 59 people have submitted their applications for a seat in the new National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) as the 10-day application period closed yesterday (Oct 2).

The upcoming selection of NACC members to replace vacancies drew many applications from prominent figures such as former Deputy National Police Chief Pol Gen Watcharapol Prasarnrajkit, NACC Secretary-General Sansern Poljiak, and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice Suwana Suwanjata.

The selection committee will meet on October 19th to determine the qualifications and select 5 candidates. The names will later be presented to the president of the National Legistlative Assembly (NLA) for further consideration.
