Do British Citizens need a visa for 3 day business trip in Vietnam?

Featured Replies

I notice on the UK Gov website they state that for British Citizens who are traveling for any reason upto 15 days in Vietnam they do not need a visa.

https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/vietnam/entry-requirements

Also this statement on the Vietnamese embassy in London website: http://vietnamembassy.org.uk/index.php?action=p&ct=Notice2

Does any body have experience with this new rule?

Thanks

I don't know why you're asking "Do British Citizens need a visa for 3 day business trip in Vietnam?"

It couldn't be more clear from the two links you provided: No visa required.

Unless I'm missing something.

UK 15 day visa exempt. I only add to above correct answer to add. Next year some countries UK included will be given 30. Also other countries including Australia added to list. Happy days

Because in countries such as Vietnam, what you read online, doesn't always seem to be the case with certain immigration officials.

Case in point, when I went to go through immigration they asked if i had visa before I got up to the main immigration desk. I said no, I want the free one on arrival, but they should no cant do that and took me me to the visa on arrival stand where you have to pay 80 dollars or similar and need to have a letter of invitation for the business visa. I told they guy directing me there that online it states we can get visa on arrival fpr free, but he was adamant there wasn't one.

So I waited till he had gone to grab another person, then I went straight up to the main immigration desk and got my free 15 day visa on arrival fine.

Situations like this is the reason i made this post.
